This is absurd! When you build or create a new Windows machine, Windows requires you to sign-in using an online Microsoft account - not a local account. Once you do, Windows automatically backs up EVERYTHING in your Windows user profile to a default Microsoft One Drive account. Once you find this out (likely through a Microsoft email), you can't simply disable OneDrive. You have to first unlink your account, then delete everything it backed up into your One Drive account. By then, your information is already forever with Microsoft OneDrive, despite if you delete it.
This is violation of privacy and they will be held accountable.
