Remove "Filter" macOS Mail toolbar icon?

Remove "Filter" macOS Mail toolbar icon?

You cannot customize Mail to remove the "Filter" icon. It sits in the top left of the menu bar. Anyone know how to get this removed? Seems like people are request it as a feature.
