Upcoming changes to Venmo Email - July 2026
Posted: Tue Jul 21, 2026 5:12 pm
Summary of this Venmo notice, effective August 24, 2026:
1. Arbitration Provision Changes
Updates to the mandatory informal dispute resolution process
Arbitration procedures updated, including new rules for mass arbitrations, and a switch of arbitration providers from AAA to JAMS
New York County, New York state/federal courts get exclusive jurisdiction over disputes not covered by arbitration (except small claims)
These changes apply to all disputes between you and Venmo, regardless of when they arose (i.e., retroactively)
2. Venmo Stash Rewards Program Changes
No more need to pick a specific merchant bundle in the "Bundle" cash back program — you can now earn cash back across more Stash brands
New tiered cash back structure:
2% back once you spend $250/month on qualifying Venmo checkout or Venmo Debit Card purchases
5% back once you spend $1,500/month on qualifying purchases
Monthly cash back cap remains $100
What you need to do: Nothing, if you're fine with the changes — continued use of Venmo after the effective date means you accept them. If you don't want to be bound by the new terms, your only option is to close your account before August 24, 2026.
